Betting on Myself is an excellent memoir by Steven Crist, the former horse-racing reporter for the New York Times and founder of Racing Form. This can be read not just as a horse-racing book or a sports book, but as a business/management book more generally — with deep insights into how entrepreneurs spot problems or inefficiencies, and have the passion to follow them through to their fullest and most profitable conclusions.
