The Wife

The Pequod Review:
Meg Wolitzer’s The Wife is predictable and cliched, with a crucial plot twist you can spot a mile away, but she is nonetheless an outstanding writer. And the book’s protagonist (Joan Castleman, the wife of the successful novelist Joe Castleman) effectively conveys the frustrations, rage, and regret at the abandonment of her own writing career in order to support her husband’s. The book was made into a 2017 film starring Glenn Glose.
