What You Can Change and What You Can't: The Complete Guide to Successful Self-Improvement
Rating
The Pequod Review:
Published in 1993, What You Can Change and What You Can't is badly in need of an update, but otherwise it is exactly what a self-help book should be — a concrete, scientific, and user-friendly review of the psychological and behavioral disorders that can be effectively addressed, and the treatment methods that have proven most successful for each. It puts to shame most other books in the genre, which are typically full of pseudoscience, over-promises, and a lot of filler.
