The Pequod Review:

Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! is structured as a collection of personal stories by Richard Feynman about his experiences not just as a Nobel-winning physicist, but also as an amateur safecracker, painter, bongo player, radio technician, and all-around prankster. Underneath the humor is a deeply serious and inspirational book about enjoying life, finding pleasure in intellectual pursuits, and maintaining a childlike curiosity. And through it all is Feynman’s charismatic, intelligent, and very funny voice.

There are countless self-help books published every year that provide advice on how to find your purpose in life, how to more intelligently solve problems, and how to achieve success in the world. Feynman’s stories give more practical and truly-lived advice on these areas than virtually any other book in the genre — and they show you how to have more fun doing it too. Books like this are why I love reading.
