Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors

Written with Ann Dryuan, Carl Sagan's Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors is a general overview of DNA and evolution, in both humans and other species. The book is informative, but also dry and unengaging. There are better books on the subject by Richard Dawkins, Stephen Jay Gould and others — including Darwin himself.
