The Pequod Review:

For his book Screen Plays, David Cohen interviewed screenwriters for 25 recent Hollywood films (including American Beauty, Lost in Translation, Erin Brokovich, and others) to understand how the screenplays were developed, edited, filmed and produced. The narrative has occasionally interesting anecdotes, but unfortunately each chapter is too short and too high-level (only 10-15 pages). The book probably would have been better if Cohen had gone deeper on a smaller number of films.
