James McManus's memoir Positively Fifth Street is a thrilling story about how he used a $4,000 advance from Harper’s Magazine to secure entry into the $10,000 World Series of Poker Main Event, eventually making the final table of the event and winning almost $250,000. This is an excellent book, covering not only McManus’s experiences but also the history of poker in Las Vegas.
