The Panic of 1907 is in many ways superior to the broader boom-and-bust studies of Charles Kindleberger, Robert Shiller, et al, since its focus on a single event allows Robert Bruner (and his co-author Sean Carr) to go deeper into the specific causes of the crisis — in this case, a bank run driven by leveraged stock market bets.
