Omoo: A Narrative of Adventures in the South Seas

Omoo is another exaggerated South Pacific travelogue, this time based on Herman Melville’s experiences on the island of Tahiti. The book is nearly as good as Typee (1846), with less descriptive flair but with better and more humorous stories of local customs.
