The Omnivore's Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals
Rating
The Pequod Review:
Much of The Omnivore's Dilemma is too soft and high-level, especially Michael Pollan's insufficiently examined nostalgia for small-scale farms and hunter-gatherers. But he redeems himself with an intelligent review of the history of American agricultural policy, which has encouraged the production of cheap corn-based foodstuffs to the detriment of our health and the environment.
