Movies and Money

David Puttnam was Chairman/CEO of Columbia Pictures, and the producer of a number of successful films including Chariots of Fire, The Mission, The Killing Fields and Midnight Express. His book Movies and Money (1997) attempts to trace the history of the movie industry from its earliest days. Its initial sections are a bit perfunctory, however his more recent account of the decline of European cinema is quite perceptive.
