The Pequod Review:

Ben Sonnenberg (1936-2010) was the son of a wealthy PR executive and found several ways to put his inheritance to good use: create a critically-acclaimed but money-losing literary journal (Grand Street), collect expensive antiques, and throw elaborate parties at his Gramercy Park mansion. His memoir Lost Property is self-absorbed, but it's a humorous and extremely well-written account of the 1980s NYC literary scene. Highly recommended.
