Lost Light

Lost Light is the ninth book in the Harry Bosch series, and is the only one to date told in the first person. Bosch has finally quit the LAPD, but takes a case file with him (of a young woman murdered four years ago) and solves it on his own time. If you can get past the ridiculous set-up, the rest of the narrative works quite well.
