Roberto Bolano's Last Evenings on Earth is a collection of 14 early short stories. These may not achieve the cumulative power of Bolano's novels, but several of them are excellent and surreal — especially the title story, “Sensini,” “A Literary Adventure,” “Dentist,” and “The Grub.”
