The Pequod Review:

The record industry has changed so much over the last several decades that the 1950s-1980s might as well be ancient history, but Frederic Dannen’s book Hit Men is nonetheless a very well-sourced account of the era's music business, full of extraordinary stories that rarely feel exaggerated. And the borderline criminality of many record executives shows how much tamer and more conservative the corporate world is today.
