Have You Seen…?: A Personal Introduction to 1,000 Films

The veteran British film critic David Thomson continues his astonishingly prolific output with Have You Seen…?, a collection of 1,000 short essays on his favorite films. The essays are even more casual and introspective than his earlier work — and it must be said they are not always well-structured or polished — but Thomson remains a highly intelligent critic. Coupled with his other masterpiece, The New Biographical Dictionary of Film, this is another very good reference guide.
