A Friendship: The Letters of Dan Rowan and John D. MacDonald
Rating
The Pequod Review:
John D. MacDonald was a natural letter writer — exuberant and candid — and this collection of letters from 1967-1974 traces MacDonald's and Dan Rowan's careers as they were both experiencing extraordinary success. MacDonald curated this collection, and it definitely tells his side of the conversation, but this is an excellent book about not just friendship but also Rowan’s insights into the makings of a hit television show.
