The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality

Brian Greene's earlier book The Elegant Universe (1999) was specifically focused on string theory, but The Fabric of the Cosmos is much broader and more comprehensive — a detailed look at space time, quantum mechanics, and relativity, as well as the historical context in which Einstein’s and Newton’s ideas were developed. This is by far Greene’s best book, and highly recommended for fans of popular science books.
