The Pequod Review:

Ficciones (1944) remains the better and more complete of Jorge Luis Borges's short story collections, but this pocket-sized 108-page book from New Directions includes some of his very best stories: “Pierre Menard, Author of the Quixote,” “Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius,” “Death and the Compass,” and "The Garden of Forking Paths." There is no “Funes el Memorioso” or “The Library of Babel” though.
