Encounter: Essays

Published in 2009, Milan Kundera's Encounter is a wide-ranging collection of essays, book reviews, music reviews, and literary profiles. Kundera’s pieces include philosophical observations that are too often trite and even curmudgeonly, however his literary analyses are intelligent and enthusiastic. Some of his best sections cover lesser known Eastern European writers, including Danilo Kis and Bohumil Hrabal.
