The Pequod Review:

David and Goliath received by far the worst reviews of Malcolm Gladwell’s career, but these seem to me to be mainly an overcorrection for the excessive praise of his earlier books. Because David and Goliath is merely more of the same — a calculating blend of the obvious and the simplistic that is nonetheless written in lucid and engaging prose. I suggest we all stop complaining and just read Gladwell’s books as fiction, so that we can appreciate his true brilliance: writing well-structured narratives with happy endings that flatter our intelligence.
