Dark Rooms

The Pequod Review:
The first third of Dark Rooms, Lili Anolik's debut crime novel, is very good, as it recounts the murder of a sixteen-year-old girl at a New England prep school. Even though the case appears to be open-and-shut, Anolik creates dramatic tension through the introduction of several interesting characters. However, the rest of the book quickly switches to autopilot and becomes a standard chase thriller with too many implausible scenes.
