The Pequod Review:

The Constant Gardener, John le Carre's eighteenth novel, is the story of a British diplomat who uncovers a corporate scandal involving international pharmaceutical companies and the British Foreign Office. The book starts strong, but the characters and plot become cliched and agenda-driven — and it devolves into exactly the good-versus-evil dynamic that he so crucially avoided in his superior Cold War fiction.
