The Pequod Review:

Twenty novels in and John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series remains as good as ever. This time McGee investigates the death of his best friend Meyer's niece (Norma) and her husband in an apparent terrorist attack. When McGee finds evidence that seems to identify the attacker, his search takes him on a thrilling trip first to Texas and later to the Yucatan jungles. It's all very well done, with more psychological depth than is typical for the series, and MacDonald has some great lines ("She wasn't at all pretty, but being in love made her beautiful").
