Ball Four

Ball Four is Jim Bouton’s diary of his 1969 professional baseball season with the Seattle Pilots, Houston Astros, and (briefly) the AAA-level Vancouver Mounties. While it was scandalous at the time for its previously-unknown stories of drug use, womanizing, and clubhouse infighting, today it reads like a quaint sports memoir from the distant past.
