The Pequod Review:

Amsterdam, Ian McEwan's seventh novel, is the story of two high-profile men (a famed composer and a London newspaper editor) whose lives unravel following a euthanasia pact. It is not so much a bad book as a mediocre and forgettable one, with some of his least likable (or relatable) characters, and an unconvincing resolution. Winner of the 1998 Booker Prize.
