The Pequod Review:

Your Band Sucks is a rough but passionate stream-of-consciousness memoir of Jon Fine’s experiences as both an indie rock musician (with his band Bitch Magnet) and a music fan in the 1980s and 1990s. I especially enjoyed the sections where he captures the thrills of discovering an unknown band for the first time, and connecting with an entire community of like-minded fans. While I wouldn’t trade today’s improved music availability for anything, there is a broader lesson that scarcity and inaccessibility can sometimes lead to greater consumer happiness.
