The Pequod Review:

Stephen King’s memoir On Writing is an intelligent and useful overview of the writing process. The book is divided into four sections: an autobiographical overview of King’s life, practical recommendations on how to write, an account of the 1999 automobile accident that nearly killed King, and finally a step-by-step description of King’s editing process (using an example of one of his stories). His book is enormously readable, full of specific and usable advice, and one that gives a clear picture of what the life of a writer is really like.
