The Pequod Review:
Richard Price’s first novel, The Wanderers, is set in the 1960s and over its twelve chapters describes the coming-of-age experiences of several teenagers living in a Bronx housing project. The chapters don’t really add up to a novel, but they are sharp and intense nonetheless — and in important ways they capture the fear, desperation, and emerging masculinity common to all adolescent boys.
