The Unfinished Crime

The Pequod Review:
The murderer is revealed early in Elisabeth Sanxay Holding's The Unfinished Crime — a man (Andrew Branscombe) accidentally kills the husband of a woman he has been courting — and the rest of the novel explores his attempt to cover up the crime. While Branscombe is a less interesting character than he could have been (Patricia Highsmith's similarly-structured novels work so much better because of Ripley's personality), Holding maintains a good amount of tension as the complications mount.
