Harry Bosch's latest crime case begins when the body of a pornographic filmmaker is found in the trunk of a Rolls Royce on Mulholland Drive. Bosch's investigation takes him across not just Los Angeles but also Las Vegas, where the evidence eventually leads to mob ties and Chinatown-style political corruption. The resolution (handled by Bosch alone) is not one of Connelly's best, but the build-up is excellent.
