Smiley's People

Smiley's People is book #3 in John le Carre's The Quest for Karla series. Le Carre originally intended this to be a seven-book series; it is easy to see why he ended it as a trilogy (following Tinker Tailor and The Honorable Schoolboy) given the somewhat tired and repetitive nature of this George Smiley-centered book. Of course, even a subpar le Carre is superior to most of his espionage peers.
