The Pequod Review:
Don DeLillo was once one of our most observant of novelists, but with The Silence he seems to have lost his entire connection to American culture. The story imagines a sort of technological blackout that shuts down the world on Super Bowl Sunday in 2022, but the characters are poorly developed and the dialogue (much of which drives the plot) is quite badly written. Not recommended.
