The Pequod Review:

David Brooks's The Road to Character is pure sermon, and therefore it avoids some of the problems of his earlier social science-focused books. Brooks explores our pursuit of “resume virtues” vs “eulogy virtues,” and profiles eight individuals (Dorothy Day, Eisenhower, Bayard Rustin, Montaigne, etc.) to explain why we should care more about the latter.
