Requiem for a Dream

The Pequod Review:
Requiem for a Dream is a bleak travelogue of heroin addition, involving three Bronx addicts. Hubert Selby’s writing is unpleasantly opaque, but the book is redeemed by several excellent characters and their intense internal monologues. The book was made into a very good 2000 film by Darren Aronovsky.
