The Pequod Review:
The Rainmaker is a solid return to form for John Grisham following a string of disappointing legal thrillers. The book is the story of a rookie personal injury attorney (Rudy Baylor) whose ambulance chasing efforts lead him to uncover a corporate insurance scandal. Despite a cliched plot structure, the book has some of Grisham's best characters and a satisfying courtroom resolution. This is one of his most underrated novels.
