This is Orson Welles

The Pequod Review:
This is Orson Welles is a wide-ranging collection of interviews between Peter Bogdanovich and Orson Welles — so comprehensive that shortly before his death, Welles said he considered it to basically be his autobiography. Throughout the book, Welles reveals himself to be an intelligent observer. Here he describes Jean-Luc Godard: “What’s most admirable about him is his marvelous contempt for the machinery of movies and even movies themselves — a kind of anarchistic, nihilistic contempt for the medium — which, when he’s at his best and most vigorous, is very exciting.”
