The Pequod Review:

Open Net, George Plimpton's seventh sports-themed book, describes his experiences training as a hockey goalie for the Boston Bruins. In many ways, this book is even better than Paper Lion (1966) since the story is more about his teammates (as told through long unbroken quotes from the players themselves) than about Plimpton himself. “Few sports seemed to be enjoyed as much by its players as hockey.”
