Open: An Autobiography

The Pequod Review:
I found this book to be a bit too calculating, an attempt by Andre Agassi to present a very specific mix of candor, controversy, and maturation. And his prose has the well-written but styleless feel common to modern American biographies (which is probably the influence of ghostwriter J.R. Moehringer). Nonetheless, the sections on Agassi's hatred for the sport and the single-minded intensity of his developmental years are honest and persuasive.
