Old School

Tobias Wolff's first novel, Old School, is set in the 1960s an at elite East Coast prep school. The book's coming-of-age sections are a bit labored but they mostly work. However, Wolff's description of Ayn Rand's appeal to impressionable teenagers is predictable and obvious.
