The Pequod Review:

Published in 1895, Georgios Vizyinos's Moscov Selim is a short and simple novella about the irrationality of nationalism and the way that individuals from rival countries are often more similar to us than different — with the same hopes, disappointments and insecurities. Vizyinos's story uses the example of a Greek and Turk to illustrate his point; their enlightened interaction becomes a "correspondence of souls."
