The Pequod Review:

Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City, 2001-2011 is just what the title promises, an oral history of the NYC indie rock scene of the early 2000s. Lizzy Goodman’s book is very well-sourced with good interviews, however the book romanticizes the era and focuses too much on some of its most popular bands (The Strokes, Interpol, LCD Soundsystem, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, etc.) One of the more interesting subtexts of the book is the relatively wealthy backgrounds of most of these musicians, in contrast to earlier musical periods.
