Lytton Strachey: The New Biography
Rating
The Pequod Review:
Lytton Strachey is supremely enjoyable biography of the great biographer, considerably revised and expanded from the original 1967-1968 edition following the discovery of a trove of Strachey’s correspondence. The book is full of gossipy anecdotes, not just on Strachey himself ("He could freeze a party with his dreadful silence”) but also the Bloomsbury coterie of Woolf, Keynes, Eliot, etc.
