The Journals of Arnold Bennett (1896-1910)

Arnold Bennett (1867-1931) was an enormously successful English novelist who has faded in memory to the point that he is basically forgotten today. While much of his fiction has not held up well, his journals are intelligent and candid; they also include useful commentary on his views of other contemporary writers.
