The Pequod Review:
Richard Hell's memoir I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp covers the familiar ground of the late 1970s NYC punk scene — CBGB's, Patti Smith, The Ramones, etc. But his book is unique in its its honesty and candor, as it describes what daily life in New York City was really like and the artistic differences with his longtime friend Tom Verlaine that led him to leave their band Television.
