Hoodwink

The Pequod Review:
Hoodwink is the seventh book in Bill Pronzini’s Nameless Detective series. The story begins when Nameless (a San Francisco-based middle-aged private investigator who would feature in forty of Pronzini's novels) is hired to investigate an unfounded accusation of plagiarism against a famous pulp fiction writer. But that is only the start of his troubles, as the crimes (and murders) start to pile up. This is a solid locked-room mystery novel, with a fun setting at a pulp convention.
