The Pequod Review:

Bartholomew Gill is a pseudonym for Mark McGarrity (1943-2002), an American newspaper columnist who attended Trinity College and wrote his thesis on Samuel Beckett. Gill's book The Death of a Joyce Scholar is an entertaining murder mystery (involving a literature professor who is killed on Bloomsday) combined with perceptive observations on the novels of Joyce and Beckett.
