The Dead Man’s Brother

The Pequod Review:
For most of his career, Roger Zelazny (1937-1995) specialized in poetry and science fiction, often with a focus on religion and mortality. But with The Dead Man’s Brother, published by Hard Case Crime fourteen years after his death, Zelazny branched out into crime fiction. The book is the story of an art smuggler recruited by the CIA for an assignment in Rome; the plot itself is mediocre but Zelazny is a very good writer.
