A Dance at the Slaughterhouse is the ninth novel in Lawrence Block's long-running Matthew Scudder series. The story is fast and action-packed, in good ways and bad, as Scudder (a tormented ex-cop) accidentally discovers a crime recorded on video and pursues his own form of vigilante justice.
