The Pequod Review:

The Concrete Blonde is one of Michael Connelly's best early novels, a combination police procedural and courtroom drama. Detective Harry Bosch’s character begins to round into form as we learn more about his background, including the accidental murder of a potentially innocent suspect four years earlier. The book’s other characters are too cliched but the plotting is strong enough to make it a highly enjoyable read.
